Sarah is a contemporary printmaker who loves experimenting with different printmaking techniques.
In this workshop she will share her years of experience so you gain an understanding of the processes involved with a playful and relaxed approach.
Mono means creating a 'one - off'.
You will have a go at creating Monotypes, this involves experimenting with direct mark making to create gestural and intuitive prints as well Monoprinting, creating prints from found objects, such as dried leaves, lace and textured paper.
There will also be the opportunity to use stencils, combine techniques, work in colour and build layers of texture.
At the end of the day each participant will have created their own series of colourful developmental, unique, original prints to take home.
Please bring along a selection of items you would like to print from, such as dried flowers, textured paper, feathers, net curtain, ( a selection will be available) also bring an apron, something to take your prints home in and a notepad/pen in case you would like to take notes.

Hopton Hall Gallery is where heritage and contemporary creativity meet in the heart of Derbyshire. Located in Ashbourne, it is part of the Hopton Hall Estate known for its gardens, historic restoration, growing art collection, and Month of Art competition.
Owners and custodians of the Hopton Hall Estate, Chris and Andi Harvey, founded the gallery in April 2026 with the aim of building something that connects centuries of craftsmanship with the artists shaping today's landscape - both in the gallery's vision and in the 18th century building on St. John Street it calls home.
Thoughtfully restored and adapted to welcome visitors, the gallery building combines period character with modern light and openness. It is a quiet space where art can both be enjoyed, purchased and to inspire.
At Hopton Hall Gallery, you will find an ever-changing programme of exhibitionsand events, and a showcase for award-winning artists.
Whether you are a collector, a curious visitor, or someone who's never stepped inside a gallery before, you are welcome here.
