Queen Elizabeth, holds a rainbow with the inscription “Non sine sole iris”,
“No rainbow without the sun”, reminding viewers only the Queen’s wisdom can ensure peace and prosperity. The original painting is full of mysterious and fascinating motifs and secret symbols.
A snake on the sleeve showing a most cunning creature and eyes all over the dress show that the Queen ‘sees all’.
