Inspired by the portrait of Anne by Hans Holbein the younger, 1539.

This portrait now in the Louvre in Paris, shows her in an outfit of red velvet with gold trimmings, dotted with pearls. Her Stickelchen (headdress) is encrusted with seed pearls and framed by golden gauze.

When creating the collagraph printing plate from which I made the original prints, I used a selection of varied materials which I collect and hoard.  The headdress includes children's stickers, sequins, cut card stencils, and folded tissue paper aswell as nail art gems. They are all layered and are used to create texture and embossing in the final print.
